Overview
Everyone gets dealt a secret card: a person, a character, a thing. You can see everyone’s but your own. Take turns asking yes-or-no questions about your own card until you work out who or what you are.
You need two or more people to play this game.
Playing
Deal. Pick a category and deal the cards, following the instructions on the phone.
You can write each card on a note and stick it to its owner’s forehead, or just try to remember them. The app lets you assign cards to players, to help you keep track of who has what.
Remember: don’t let players see their own card!
Ask. Take turns asking yes-or-no questions the room can answer.
- “Am I alive?”
- “Could I fit in a shoebox?”
Some groups allow spectrum questions too.
- “On a spectrum from smooth to spiky, where do I fit?”
Guess. When you think you know, make it your question: “Am I a teapot?” Get it right and you’re done! Stay and answer for everyone else.
Win. The first to guess correctly wins the game. Keep playing until everyone has guessed, or just start a fresh game if things get tedious.
Where the app comes in
Foreheads helps with category selection and dealing cards. Once the game starts, you don’t need the app open (unless you want to use the Notes feature).
